Around the Shop....
Just regular stuff but the week before spring break is always crazy at the school. It is like the kids know and have spring fever and boy are they wiggly and rascally!
I went to my favorite store today, Country Roads, and fluffed my booth. I took a couple of pictures around the store so you can see the other wonderful displays too!
First up, I wanted to show you this pretty chair my friend Bonnie found for me. I took it over today.....

And this is a new vignette I made up with some Vintage vanity goodies and a hobnail lamp we just rewired....

This is my friend Gloria's booth. I love her taste...she always has some really unusual and hard to find pieces. Look at that birdcage! She just came back from Roundtop so she will have wonderful goodies to fill her space with. Next week I will show you her other booth that her husband shops for, he loves vintage architectural pieces and finds some really awesome finds!

This next booth is the Vintage Lady's booth.... She had a store that burned down around Christmas time and now has joined the Country Roads family.... That Santos doll is on my wish list!

My Booth....
It is the 3rd week into being a antique mall booth proprietor- or shop girl, and I am loving it!
It is a challenge to find merchandise because I work my day job and some sales occur during my working hours, but I have had such support from good friends and family that I have been finding some great stuff.
My sweet friend Bonnie who is now retired and loves to junk has been going to sales when I can't and she has the eye! She also cleared out some of her stash for a great price for me to take. I couldn't have done it without her!
A friend at work texts me with finds and basically says "Get over there now!" and she also has a great vintage eye!
And I can't forget my bloggy friends (Beth and Gloria) whose knowledge of this new antique mall world has been priceless... Thanks to all of you!!!!
So now that I have made my academy award speech, on with the goods!
This first picture is of an awesome mirror that I found at an estate sale...so hard to sell!

Here are my pictures, I will stop babbling now!

PS... I am booth #6 in the last building to the right!

Flying doors, Oh my!

Saturday was quite an adventure! We hired our son and his friend with a truck to help and to also drive out some of our wares... One of our big pieces was an old hoosier style cabinet- bright red.
Well, apparently if you drive down the 405fwy at Studebaker, you will find the door to said cute red hoosier! Imagine what went through my mind when my son called to tell me it flew off!
Yes...some @#%&'s came out, but luckily nobody was hurt...
It also came off cleanly so I will add a cute curtain and it will still be darling. It wouldn't have fit anyway so we have time to get it ready to move in when that darling bed and dresser sell.
Well, I just woke up and need to get ready for work, but I wanted to share my new adventure with you.... a dream of mine and it is coming true. I am so glad we are taking the leap and my family has been with me the whole time, supporting me.... I am a lucky girl!
Happy Monday...and if I wrote anything wonky..I am not awake so I am not resposible for my actions...hee! hee! karen.....

A New Adventure.....
Sorry I have been away for so long. I took an unexpected blog break.... That life! Always a fun ride!
Just normal stuff.....cold/flu stuff, sinus infection stuff, computer broke down and all my info. gone stuff, but hubby is awesome and had my pictures downloaded on a cd...
EXCEPT! I have had a new adventure in the works. To some of you it is old hat....but it is really exciting for me! I am opening a mall space in an Antique mall! Yipppeeeee! I have always wanted to own my own store and I love vintage...(I think something might have given you a clue!) Well, I have been looking around for a good fit for me and my family and have found a wonderful place to open a space! Country Roads in Old Towne Orange, CA....
I have heard nothing but good things from other vendors and shoppers about this mall and so I put my name on the waiting list after a couple of visits to check it out. Well, within a week I got an email from Sue saying there is an opening! I will be able to move in the first of March! Wahooo! But, I had very little inventory! So I have been shopping my vintage-loving butt off!
In Calif. there are not always deals to be had, costs are high here! But a friend said "You will find your secret "spot" and that will help you! I have already found an amazing find..right in my little town and the people are just my kind of people. I feel like someone upstairs is really smiling down on me...(knocking on wood here.....)
Okay, I have chatted long enough! I am just soooooooo excited!
Here are some finds that we found today.....
A tractor seat/milk jug stool made in by a midwest farmer...
It's banged up but has so much character and I figure if it doesn't sell as is, we will use the seat in another way!
Here is the darling birdcage and a beaded purse that is in new condition (but it is old)
Two charming scrapbooks...a wedding book and a music scrapbook...a souvenier italian plaque and a swirly frame.....
Here is the inside of the scrapbook:
Some sweet china.....
3 Bauer ringed mixing bowls ( My husband will have to pry these from my hands!) and a sifter with the 98cent tag on it...
This is a very bad picture of an industrial cart we got a couple of weeks ago..(taken on my phone) but you get the idea....
Well, I missed you.... Thanks for hanging in there with me! Hope your Sunday is a sunny one!
