Traditions....

When I was growing up, my mom was the one who always hosted our family get-togethers. She filled them with food and pretty tables and wonderful people.  We always had what I referred to as "Mom's strays" at the table. People who had nowhere to go and needed an adopted family for the holiday....
When I was little, I always wondered who would show up...the excitement of the holiday was always bubbling up inside of me....
Food was the center of any celebration and it was always delicious.

Eggs Benedict was our Christmas and Easter brunch tradition and still is... we always had just our little family for that, maybe one guest or two but traditionally, just us... We look forward to it each year.....
I still give my kids (Marissa 19 yrs old and Ben 22 yrs old) baskets... When they were little they got very little candy...toys and books and little treasures filled their baskets... Now they want just candy and that's alright by me....
We celebrated Easter this morning because Ben works tomorrow. We had our Eggs Benedict and my mom's pecan rolls...yum! This afternoon a young mom and her sweet toddler will be joining us and we will cook a ham for dinner...It is a quiet holiday this year but for me...it's perfect, my mom is 83 now and cannot handle big crowds so it is perfect for her also....
Just a few last snippets of the booth....

Hope you have a wonderful Easter...enjoy your loved ones and maybe make a tradition or two!  karen....

Rearranging the Booth... Sideways pictures and Ebay listings....

Okay, I know I am a techno-dork but I did flip these pictures around in the picture manager and they won't post correctly! They are phone pics because my batteries died in my camera and so they aren't great to begin with....Uggh!  Hope you don't mind cranking your head a little!

We added that wonderful garden bench on Sunday and moved the hoosier over...I really like how it turned out....

We also added this little sideways ladder-y shelf...I like it too....
I found this Nipper bank last week and a friend found the planters...
I love this little floral bench....

And here is my favorite picture.... I made the rag wreath...love the little garden orb/plant climber thingy....

On another note, I have added some things to my ebay...
These are two darling Italian creamers.... $12.95 for the pair

This Royal Sealy Vintage Japan 3ring footed Teacup and saucer...$54.95
And these beautiful Limoges dessert/bread plates which are all hand painted and each one a little different....  $62.95 for a set of 6
Well, I hope you don't need a trip to the Chiropractor after reading this post! Have a great week!  karen....

Random Spring images....

Life has been busy around the recycled household lately....but in a good way. My best friend from childhood is out from Texas (her mom lives next door) so I have been trying to sneak little moments with her between her visits with family...love her so much!

This is my terrarium that my friend Liz gave me for Christmas one year...it sits on our credenza. A little bunny is visiting it right now....

This little silver bowl just became a catchall for vintage items that have either left the shop or are going and I just love the way it looks right now...I think it will stay like this for a short bit!

I went to the Antique fair last weekend but only came home with a couple of finds...this cute Nipper bank....

And this beautiful chalkware Mary... love them both....
And on another subject, we went to the booth 2 weekends ago and came home with this baby....

Our youngest car was 19 years old and the 21 year old car (my mom's which my daughter was driving) was dying so we bit the bullet and found this beauty. She is so comfortable and has so much room to pack in lots of vintage goodies! We are so happy!

And last, but not least... I started this rag wreath...it is my first and I am really happy with the results....

Here it is in the booth... I had a friend take a picture of it (mine came out blurry )  and it is sideways...still cute though in my mind! I am linking up to the Be Inspired party at Common Ground, Hop on over and see all the talent from these bloggers!  Hope your spring has started off great!  karen.....
