Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

It's funny how sometimes, when you least expect it, something nice happens! I love to go on many different blogs. Most about repurposing vintage, cottage style, farm love..... oh and there are so many more....
Well, I  was visiting  My Sweet Savannah and Melanie was having a jewelry giveaway.....

I don't join every giveaway I come across...only those that strike my fancy and some new jewelry for spring and summer sure sounded fun!
I won a $50 gift certificate to Charles Emerson Designs  and these three pieces are what I chose.....

What a fun, girlie way to start the warmer seasons!  Thank you Melanie,  and Erin from Charles Emerson Designs!!!  I love my new jewelry!!!  Have a great weekend! karen.....

Self Proclaimed Dork Here.....

It's no secret... I love having my booth space. I love the thrill of the hunt...
 I love styling my booth....
I struggle with keeping up with paperwork...but it's all worth it....
So...last week hubby and I went to the Pasadena City College Flea. We had a fun time and came home with some fun marquee letters and a kitchen scale...

We only had 8 letters so hubby and I had a race to name as many words with those 8 letters as we could...

My favorites were SOAR and DEAR.... as you can see, we went with DEAR....
We drove out to the booth (about a 45 min. drive) and restyled it all...I was really happy with the outcome!  I came home and posted pictures on Facebook of the new look....
Well, about 1/2 hr. later, one of the other vendors emailed me and told me the "D" was sold soon after we left...

Now our cute little booth says EAR.....

We laughed our patooties off!

But, I have to go to work tomorrow and the booth closes at 5pm!
What to do?

So I call a friend who lives nearby and ask her to change it to SOAR....
I think I better go to an outdoor/fishing/camping store and buy some oars fast! This time I'm gonna be prepared!

Hope you have a wonderful week...I'm still laughing my ears off...
I'm Karen and I'm a dork!!!

Vignettes Here and There....

I hope you enjoyed your Easter...we had a very subdued celebration. My son and his girlfriend had to work this year so we had a little brunch on Saturday...... still fun and chocolate bunny filled so we didn't feel cheated....

This is a view of  the top of our buffet.... I love the frenchy style but still have the element of cottage everywhere...I am so fickle!
I thought you might like some vignettes from around Country Roads since I am always showing you my space. There are many talented people who have booths there.... so much fun to wander around....

I love Debbie's style.... Very Frenchy... (above)
And Marina is one of the artists who makes her own signs...this wonderful painting is on an old door. Marina is in the process of moving to another booth in the store....
This is another corner of her new space "Belen's corner" Belen is her daughter and loves the thrill of the hunt and styling the booth so her mom gave her a corner of the booth.... (she is only 10!, Pretty talented eh? )

This is Yessi's corner...she is my sweet neighbor in the store.... love her look!

And that cherub above? Oh how I want her... my heart goes pitter pat for cherubs!  She can be found in Lori's booth.....

This sweet outdoor set is outside Marina's booth....loooove....

And this beautiful booth is new.... I just love so much about it! We are in the process of deciding on a new mattress and boxsprings...this chippy bed would look good with whatever we get!
Well, happy Spring my friends....hope you enjoyed all the eyecandy!  karen.....

Went to the Flea.....

I went to the Antique Flea today... Had so much fun!  I wasn't able to stay long because we needed to go to the booth, but I love what I found!  Above is the wonderfully chippy chandy I found....

This little darling holds 4 ice cream cones...I think it would be cute planted up....
I love this red railroad lantern... hard to take it in!

These were a project...we covered the little camping stool quite awhile ago but just got the laundry cart so we put them together with a hanging line and child's apron and doll clothes and a cute laundry sign....

I also got the french salt holder today.....

Two pretty pictures and some interesting candle sconces....

A closeup of the camping stool...

A great old typewriter, I can't get enough of them....

And a view into an old chippy cupboard....
I love junkin', Can't wait to get out of California and find some really old crusty treasures, hopefully this summer!
Have a great week! karen....

Fun finds....

I have finally found a few goodies at our local Antique Flea Market...Not much but better than we have been finding.  A rusty birdcage, a darling candy box, a french enamel jam sieve, a wire soap dish, a basket purse, ironstone creamer, red tool caddy and a cute little plastic bunny!

We took most of these goodies over to the booth yesterday. I also added a pile of old letters and some cute vintage cards.....

Here are some pictures of my friend Marina's booth.....

She hand letters all her own signs...she is a wonderful artist!
Here is a picture of a darling carousel horse in her space....

She also is an Annie Sloan painter extraordinaire!  Look at that darling vanity!

And I didn't get these pictures in order but here is the little tool caddy filled with fun treasures....
I hope you had a great weekend! Happy Monday tomorrow! karen...

Hellooooo! Cough! Snort!

 Hello Friends!
Sorry for my absence...life does get in the way sometimes!

I am home with the dreaded cough-plague that has hit everyone in the U.S. so please ignore any wonky statements that may be fever induced!

I am still loving my little booth. We had a big sale on New Year's day and I was really low on stock afterwards (that's a good thing). Then I got a darn sinus infection and wasn't able to go out treasure hunting for stock so it is still needing more.... But! I did make a coffee filter wreath in the meantime and some puffy hearts to bring in some Valentines love....
I took in some darling children's Valentine sets and a Be Mine banner....

The large knitting box with the La Mode print on it was hard to give up...I looooooove it!

My favorite little flea is on Sunday so hopefully I will find some great treasures to share with you...until then, cough!cough! I am going to drink some more Airborne and have a little snooze.....zzzz...
