Our Treasures from Pennsylvania..... (picture heavy!)
I shared about our trip to visit the Amish.... It was a beautiful adventure! The whole Western PA. was so beautiful and green. When we entered Volant, we found two antique malls and stopped in to find some goodies to bring to our antique booth.... This was our favorite, it is called The Schoolhouse Shops..... it is a store built in an old schoolhouse, thus the transom windows! They had wonderful goods, fair prices and a really nice owner! If you ever get to that end of the US, you won't be dissappointed!
Here are a couple more pics of buildings we saw in Volant... an old schoolhouse....
And a cute little church structure.....
And here are our treasures that we brought back... an old Tonka pickup, 2 pitchers from Oil City, Pa, a doctor's baby scale, a hobnail bottle, a beautiful tin, some clippies that were used in a store at one time, and a floral hat (that's for me, the tin too!)
This was my favorite find...a red cross bandage and plasters cabinet... I was so excited to find this baby! She needs some cleaning but...pitter pat...she is full of history!
We got 3 camera's total, an old clock, tins, santas and some Victorian images on wood plaques....
How about this awesome luggage/hatbox....I love her!
Here is her insides....
Some orange and black tins for halloween, a black train case and lunchbox and some berry baskets....
The other cameras and a toy tin litho typewriter...
Here is the typewriter close up...so cute! I may save this for xmas time....
And I can't leave out this crusty fisherman's basket....
Well, I hope you enjoyed my finds...I enjoyed shopping for them. Can't wait to get them in the booth! I am sharing this post with Debra at Common Ground for Be Inspired Friday's. Go visit and see all the lovely blogs that join in!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend! karen....

Lost Amongst the Amish...Lucky me....
We took our first trip in 19 years back to my hubby's hometown...
Butler, Pa....
Every time I have gone there, I am amazed at how beautiful it is...
Just down the road a bit is Sadie's farm...she lives alone and runs her little shop, farms her little farm and even makes pies and cookies to share with anyone who wants to stop by....
Here is her adorable goat, he likes to wrap himself tightly around the pole of this sign and rest his head on the pole. People keep stopping out of concern for him, but when he is done with his nap, he unwraps himself again....
He is a rascally guy, he can get thru tight spaces and wander off, even with those curvy long horns....
Sadie is Amish...she is going to live in a new little house on her son's property in the Spring...my in-laws will miss her!
We took a day trip to Volant...known for the Amish...we got a little lost...Lucky us!
This is the view out our families' home....so beautiful!
This is their garage cat...(they don't have a barn)
And this is the beauty that we saw just driving down the road....
Thanks for sticking with me...it was a wonderful trip...we even did some junkin' and had funny experiences, lets just say ghosts, parking police, twilight zone experiences...I guess you can say it was a well rounded trip! hugs! karen....
